All Workshop groups led by Rae Bird
Rae Bird started her love affair with creative writing after her aha this-is-how-to-write experience with poetry teacher Meg Hill Fitz-Randolph in Fairfield, Iowa. Rae studied writing at the University of Michigan, University of Iowa, and the Iowa Prairie Writers workshops. She works with Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones and Wild Mind, Clarissa Pinkola Estes’ Women Who Run With the Wolves, and Julia Cameron's The Artist’s Way.
Since 1994 over 900 women have participated in The Women’s Writing Project. Her women-only creative writing workshops have been held in Fairfield & Dubuque, Iowa, Ashland, Oregon, Orcas Island & Seattle, Washington, Asheville, North Carolina, and Flint, Michigan.
In addition to her Women's Writing Project programs Rae is the author of the creative writing workbook: Uncover Your Creative Genius – 12-Steps to Writing Brilliance.
Rae has worked in human development and creativity since 1975 teaching communication skills, creative problem solving, coaching, and meditation techniques. As a personal counselor she is one of the top Option Method trainers in the country. In private sessions and groups she also works with Living in Process, Landmark Education, and 12-step addictive recovery programs.
“This class is a priceless gift. Rae has a magic energy that permits, encourages, & nourishes this adventure into freedom.” Carol Olicker
